Plate 29 United States
£3.00
Plate 29 is the second double spread in the Atlas but has few marks. The disaster in New York on the day before Bloomsday, when the ferryboat ‘General Slocum’ burst into flames and sank, killing over 1,000 people, is reflected in Ulysses, but left no marks on the Atlas. A tiny blue dash off Cape Romain, South Carolina, is the closest here to a Joycean mark
