Plates 10, 11 Ireland, France

There are five small places marked on the map of Ireland, Cappoquin in blue, the others in red. Cappoquin is the only one mentioned in Ulysses – it is where Molly Bloom’s first lover came from,’ Cappoquin on the black water’. Why might Joyce have marked the other ones? The map of France has four blue marks, all on or near the Channel. Dieppe-Newhaven was Joyce’s route when he returned from France because his mother was dying.
